Today, April 24, 2021, the Kwame Nkrumah Hall JCRC at the University of Cape Coast, in collaboration with the hall’s management, launched the timely and laudable Osagyefo Relief fund.
The relief fund’s goal is to provide food items to selected affiliates who are in desperate need of food items, particularly in the wake of the covid 19 pandemic.
The hall President, Mr. Samuel Kwabena Adotei, during his address, stated that the items that are going to be presented to students are bags of rice, spaghetti, shito, and half a crate of eggs. He also made it known that 150 students located in the hall, 50 affiliates at the Diaspora, and 20 students at the Nduom School of Business campus were carefully selected through investigative and data collection methods to be beneficiaries of this great initiative.
The senior hall tutor, Dr. Daniel Agirfi who chaired the launch also stated in his speech that even though the presentation of these items delayed a little, the hall decided to present it to push the beneficiaries to get As in the rest of their papers.
The program ended with a surprise as the senior hall tutor and the hall President, together announced that every Haller is going to receive 5 free disposable facemasks right after the program, to ease the pressure of buying face masks off students for the rest of the semester.
Students of the hall were filled with smiles and applauded the JCRC executives and management of the hall for this timely intervention.
