NSS 2022 January allowance to be paid on March 22, 2022

The National Service Personel Association (NASPA) after several engagements with the Management of the National Service Scheme (NSS) says outstanding allowances of personnel on Tuesday, March 22, 2022, will duly be paid.
NSS deadline for the payment of the 2022 academic year outstanding allowances comes after the national service personnel nationwide registered their displeasure over the delay in the payment of what is due to them.
In a statement copied to EducationWeb, NASPA said the National Scheme has agreed to pay the January allowance of national service personnel on March 22, 2022, and for that of February and March in the shortest possible time.
“NASPA urges service personnel to remain calm while the national leadership engages the Management of NSS and other stakeholders to find lasting solutions to avoid incurring untold hardship on members,” the Association stated.
In a related development, the Service Scheme after the National Service Personnel Association appealed for an increment of service personnel allowance has said the minimum wage will be increased in the coming academic year.
Madam Gifty Oware-Aboagye, the Deputy Executive Director (General Services) of NSS who disclosed this in an interview monitored by EducationWeb said the central government has approved the increment of allowance.
“We are planning to increase the allowance of the service personnel in the coming year because NSS personnel are paid through the government coffers, so maybe in the next coming year we could increase the allowance,” Gifty said.
She added “they are paid monthly allowances determined by the Finance Ministry. Payment is calculated from the date the personnel reports for duty at his/her designated post. The allowance is paid throughout the service year.”Share This Post
